The PSL is a marksman rifle also called PSL-54C, Romak III FPK, and SSG-97. Developed in Romania in 1974, the primary purpose of the PSL was to be used by platoon marksmen for targets that were beyond the range of the standard AKM assault rifle. Its operation is similar to the Kalashnikov family of weapons with the same long stroke piston action. Using 7.62x54mmR, the PSL has a ten-round detachable box magazine. Other features include the skeleton stock and an angled cheek riser on the comb of the stock which benefits a right-handed shooter.
